I had been without internet for about a week and a half -- rather, I should say I have been without wifi functioning on the router. It was uh, quite the headache. Alas, I am back. (With a cold. Awesome.)

I am so fascinated with this top that my friends at Crash & Burn Apparel sent me; it just hangs so beautifully and the cut of it is so quirky. I have actually worn this specific outfit a LOT since they sent this top to me a couple of months ago, and I've also styled it with other pieces, and it kills me to refrain from just doing like, two or three style posts in a row with it -- but I will practice my self-discipline. That isn't to say that you won't see this top on the blog ever again. FAR from it.

This outfit is kind of...spiritual? I'm wearing a lot of personally spiritual items like the tikka, the evil eye bracelet, the vintage Vishnu necklace, the Om Mani Padme Hum thumb ring, plus the Azaria Diamond necklace from Vanessa Mooney is very Eastern styled. Later after these photos were taken, I found a man renting out a cart at the mall selling stuff from Nepal, and Kathryn and I spoke with him for something like two hours about Hinduism. I bought myself a Tibetan prayer box pendant, which you will see pretty soon. He was a pretty awesome guy!

I have to say, I'm gonna miss wearing this tikka -- because I've cut my hair today! I have two other outfits to get posted here so I guess you'll have to wait and see what it looks like once I've taken photos of myself with my new do. (Unless you're buddies with me on Facebook, then the surprise has already been spoiled for you.)

I also need to point out my eye makeup -- Urban Decay's Evidence (blue) and Deeper (brown) blended with some eyeshadows from Mark whose names I don't know. LOOOVE.


Now I'm gonna go reheat my frozen Indian dinner and put Netflix on. This cold sucks.

82; We Loved LSD, We Died Easily

First off -- I apologise for the ugly mosquito bites on my legs. At least only one of them is really visible (see the final photo) and the other one is on the backside of my upper most thigh, so it was only caught in one photo. If you go to try to look for it, then you sir are one serious creeper.

Second -- I'm not blonde yet. I took these photos about a week and a half ago. I've been so freaking lazy and complacent about photographing outfits lately. It's been annoyingly cold again! I had four days off from work last week and just spent the time at home, watching Star Trek Deep Space Nine with my babe and making more SOULMATES stuff. Oh yeah, you read right. And I don't mean like, one little necklace or half an earring pair. I've begun two earring pairs and have finished three necklaces. I have been VERY productive compared to how I had been functioning before. I've also started planning on making some new jewelry pieces, to add to the earrings and necklaces. If you follow me on Twitter, you'll know what I'm talkin' about.

I can't even believe that I haven't worn these shorts yet -- and I don't just mean on the blog for you guys. I've had them since...last May? Thing is, I had NOOOTHING to wear with them. My wardrobe lacks many red/coral/pink colours, and even tops that seemed like they would vaguely match in colour were just completely wrong for the style of these shorts. They're the cutest and most comfortable high waisted shorty shorts that I own, I think. So you'd think I would have bought a different colour, but I didn't like the other variations. I'm a little stubborn, I guess?

By the way I WAS BORN TO LOVE THIS SHIRT. A...a tarot card shirt? For real? For $25? Whaaat? And I'll be honest with you, I've been pretty unimpressed with a lot of cutout-sleeved shirts I've been seeing lately (I feel like the cut in the sleeves for a lot of shirts I've seen are awkwardly round, in a way that looks silly to me. I can't explain it) but for some reason, I really do love the sleeve cuts on this one. The cuts are less round and more gradual, and I like it a LOT better. I told you that Pacsun can do no wrong, guys. (Or, well...I do mean Doe, who is responsible for this amazing shirt. But at least Pacsun knows to carry good looking stuff.)

I think I'm going to invest in some more bodycon dresses and skirts for this year. I see 'em paired with trashy tees and jackets, and it just sets my heart afire. Especially ones with crazy neon colours or patterns. Mm-hmm!

This shirt is another gift from C&B! I would have worn it as they intended it -- long and with the tie around my waist -- but I was NOT going to wear something so rad with just jeans, and I just wore my AA Disco Pants in a recent outfit, and the only other option was leather pants, and I hate feeling like I look like I'm copying Madeline. (I have some paranoia issues.)

So, it seemed natural to wear it with the skirt I bought from THE CULTLABEL, and since the focal point of this skirt is the tassels, it was too long to wear as-is, and looked best when tied. I thus looped the waist tie back around and tied it that way, cinching it tighter to my waist. Speaking of this skirt, I looove it. My only beef is that it rides up when I walk. (In one of the photos Kathryn took, the skirt is all ridden up in the center front; I don't even know how you can't see my goods, but it still looked funky.) Not sure how to fix that, but I'm sure it's just a bodycon thing, since my Florence Dress does the same thing sometimes. I don't care though, I effing love this skirt.

...Duuude, when was the last time we saw my bare legs? Tights don't count. (Drumroll) ...October! (Pre-Canon Rebel era, too.) I wasn't even platinum then! How insane is that? (And I had a thing about being a cyclops and never brushing my bangs out of my face; sorry guys.) And I still can't even wear shorts reliably at this time of the year; the past three days have been freaking cold again, gah.



Also, guess what? I finally have a launch date for SOULMATES: March 20th* -- which just so happens to be my blog's birthday! On the Ganges will be one year old. I know it's INCREDIBLY short notice, but I've been dragging my ass hardcore on finishing up my current product stock (six whole pieces, ugh) and figured it would be a decent way of saying thank you to everyone for following my blog, commenting, and sticking around with me on this site.

I know six pieces of jewelry isn't much, but those are only the currently finished pieces. Aside from making more necklaces, one of the six finished pieces is a pair of Naga earrings which I intend to make more to sell. This will probably be the one product that I can make near identical multiples of. Since I make crystal pendant necklaces, no two crystals will always be alike, or how I decorate them. The Naga earrings, however, will mostly be the same -- except that they will come in two variants: antique brass, and soon gunmetal! (And if I ever get creative and add more decorations, but that notion is just a glint in my mind's eye at the moment.)

My biggest wish is to be able to afford giving a piece of SOULMATES jewelry away, but I have no freaking clue how well this is going to work, selling handmade jewelry. If it turns out to be a success, and if I can stop being a lazy bum and make more jewelry (winter's harsh, yo) then I can definitely plan on a giveaway in the future. It's up to you kids, though!



*This is only if all goes well and the internet doesn't go out. I can't even begin to tell you how often that happens. Twice a week is GOOD for how often our internet just ups and dies on us. More photos of me than you ever wanted to see, huh?

Okay dudes, I am the freaking luckiest girl on earth: Crash & Burn sent me this beautiful jacket and oh my goddd. I have no words. None. Well, I have a few: it is so perfect for the spring (50-70 degree) weather I'm getting up here in New England: it's long, it's mind-bogglingly soft, so perfectly worn-in and comfortable... I'm just going to wear this with everything, ever. (I've been wearing it constantly, even just inside the house with some comfy leggings and t-shirt duo while sitting in bed watching Ghost Adventures. I am not kidding.)

I didn't get to show it, but it has straps inside the sleeves so that when I roll them up, I can buckle them. I also didn't show a proper use of the cinch tie on the jacket, only because I left the jacket open the whole day, and the ties look stupid long when I have them untied. Any normal-sized human being would rock it perfectly, though.

I also want to address this tank top! I discovered Darkness and Dawn on Etsy a few weeks back and was so epically town between this Horus tank top and the men's Acid shirt. (Which I actually bought just a few days ago and only just arrived.) JSYK, I miiight have snagged the last small of this tank top, I think? They run a little tiny anyway, and medium and large are still in stock. She still has all sizes of the Eye of Horus design available too.

The owner and designer is just amazing and creative, and runs her biz out of her Etsy and a few stockists throughout California, mainly in San Fran. Expect me to keep sporting her goods on this blog, because I am head over heels with her shirt designs, and I want to see this store go places. (And at some point, I'm turning the Acid tee into a muscle tee.) Get your butts over there and buy some stuff! If you like D+D on Facebook, you'll get a coupon code, too!


I think this is my favourite outfit so far, right next to Bad Karma, of course. I just look like some post-apocalyptic desert pirate-thing, with all that weaponry on my ears... Perhaps like I'm from the planet Tatooine. Or planet Gunsmoke, if you get that reference at all. (Probably not. It's cool. Just ignore me.)
