Chicnova IT Girl contest -- please vote!

Hey there! I'm doing another contest thing where if I get the most votes I win stuff from a sponsor, blah blah, you've seen this stuff before. Could I bother you for a vote? You must have "Chicnova" liked on Facebook but I swear it's a painless commitment, not nearly as agonising as the wait will be for me to watch votes slowly add up despite my chances at winning. Consider it a belated Christmas present to me? ♥

You can vote once per day and I totally condone the abuse of this fact through like, January 18th or something. It would mean SOOO much to me!

(Oh yeah, and this outfit will be officially on the blog...some day.)

105; Sugarless GiRL (aka New Do; aka End of the World Eve?)

Jacket: TJ Maxx • Sweater: second-hand • Shorts: c/o Sugarlips Apparel • Shoes: Sam Edelman • Tights: JCPenny + DIY • Shortest + longest necklaces: c/o Vaness Mooney • Medicine pouch necklace: Salem, MA

Will this be my last post? Will we live to see Saturday? Is the world truly doomed to disaster come the dawn of Friday, the 21st? Does anyone really care anymore? (Though if the world does come to a sudden, jarring end, it means I don't have to show up for work...)

Oh yes, check out my hair! While I loved my previous hairstyle, I decided it was time for something new. I miss having symmetrical shaggy hair, plus I wanna rock the androgynous look for a little bit. I guess this is something vaguely like a pixie cut? I have no idea. I'm too lazy to Google it and compare.

I nearly kinda cried when I saw that Vanessa Mooney had sent me a package of jewels. "Ermagerd" is probably the most appropriate and accurate summation of my reaction once I realised what was newly in my possession -- except with, I will admit, much more uncontrolable exclaimation.

And of course, appropriate gloating gratitude was expressed on Instagram the moment it happened.

So these shorts are pretty awesome. Snake print cut outs? Uh, yes please, and thank you. Sugarlips Apparel always has amazing stuff don't they?

You could make some seriously great gothic get-ups (see what I did there?) with their pieces, as well as some beautiful boho outfits. I hope to continue working with their clothes because I get freaking whiplash just from the inspiration I get looking at their clothes. I'm surprised at how well the brand is doing, sourcing out to places like Nasty Gal, Macy's, Nordstrom... How awesome is that!

Head's up, remember when I talked about Geek USA, who sent me that beautiful vintage dress? The owner is running a huge moving sale, everything 50% off! Go check it out -- sale ends on January 1st!

Gotta cut this post short and wrap some presents, then I have a date with some 90s sitcoms on Netflix. #FraiserMarathon4Lyf

Also the nonsensical title totally means something, I assure you:

This song plagues my life in the most wonderful way.

104; Unplug the Jukebox

Top: c/o ROMWE • Leggings: local small biz Modelo • Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell Stevie • Earrings: Francesca's

Easiest outfit possible. Oversized shirt, and leggings. I feel like I'm cheating some sort of system, but it just works. (Especially if you're petite like me. IRL, being the height of a child, this looks especially ridic.) I love clothes for shapes and proportions, and one of my favourite things to do is to wear something comically oversized on top with something form fitting for the legs. And, duh, I love doing this even more when there's visual-impairing neons involved. It's like the 80s glam and 90s grunge had some horrible, wonderful child.

I really love ROMWE for catering to such awesome styles, btdubs. Plus their printed leggings are the bomb. They make these outfits just TOO easy to do.

103; Spirituality

The City top: c/o Crash & Burn Apparel • Maxi dress: c/o SheInside • Shoes: Arizona Jean Co. via JCPenny • Tikka: Uma • Vintage Vishnu necklace: birthday gift via Etsy • Poison earrings & Azaria Diamond Necklace: c/o Vanessa Mooney

I had been without internet for about a week and a half -- rather, I should say I have been without wifi functioning on the router. It was uh, quite the headache. Alas, I am back. (With a cold. Awesome.)

I am so fascinated with this top that my friends at Crash & Burn Apparel sent me; it just hangs so beautifully and the cut of it is so quirky. I have actually worn this specific outfit a LOT since they sent this top to me a couple of months ago, and I've also styled it with other pieces, and it kills me to refrain from just doing like, two or three style posts in a row with it -- but I will practice my self-discipline. That isn't to say that you won't see this top on the blog ever again. FAR from it.

This outfit is kind of...spiritual? I'm wearing a lot of personally spiritual items like the tikka, the evil eye bracelet, the vintage Vishnu necklace, the Om Mani Padme Hum thumb ring, plus the Azaria Diamond necklace from Vanessa Mooney is very Eastern styled. Later after these photos were taken, I found a man renting out a cart at the mall selling stuff from Nepal, and Kathryn and I spoke with him for something like two hours about Hinduism. I bought myself a Tibetan prayer box pendant, which you will see pretty soon. He was a pretty awesome guy!

I have to say, I'm gonna miss wearing this tikka -- because I've cut my hair today! I have two other outfits to get posted here so I guess you'll have to wait and see what it looks like once I've taken photos of myself with my new do. (Unless you're buddies with me on Facebook, then the surprise has already been spoiled for you.)

I also need to point out my eye makeup -- Urban Decay's Evidence (blue) and Deeper (brown) blended with some eyeshadows from Mark whose names I don't know. LOOOVE.

Now I'm gonna go reheat my frozen Indian dinner and put Netflix on. This cold sucks.
