108; I'll Be Damned

Sweater + Jacket : ROMWE • Pants: Forever21 • Shoes: eBay

WHY DO I LOOK LIKE SOME BIZARRE MIXTURE OF AGE TWENTY-SOMETHING AND TWELVE. Man this is so not attractive.

Whatever.

So I really love this stained-glass ~birth of Jesus~ sweatshirt. I jokingly called it my Christmas Sweater few months back. This year it'll be Hindu, promise.

102; Glamabilly

Jacket + skirt: c/o ROMWE ☯ Shirt: thrifted vintage ☯ Bra: The Cultlabel ☯ Demonia Creepers: eBay ☯ Tights: DIY destroyed JCPenny

(Psst, Geek USA's free shipping code is still valid for the next week! Check it out!)

Something about this reminds me of the 1950s rockabilly scene, but super glam... So I guess Stray Cats + Madonna. Perhaps it is aided by the old English architecture of New England, so I get this potent mental picture of 1950s Liverpool, with brooding teens in leather jackets and pompadour hairstyles loitering around rotting brick buildings near the shore. Any Beatles fans in the house? Anyone? Anyone?

This, but '80s. (source)
Nevermind that this may very well be Germany but WHATEVER.

But I suppose a french braid isn't a proper substitute for a pompadour.

I have an increasing interest in this sort of style. I kind of have a secret desire to bring this all together in an outfit someday: plaid button up, leather jacket, skinny jeans, creepers, wayfairers, pomp. It will be attempted, surely.

Some inspo on the matter until I get this assembled; I originally saved this to my "future haircut" folder. It seems like this is the obvious next step for my hair when I get tired of it.

I'll just be over here, sighing longingly, dreaming of this perfect life.

100; Misrepresented

Top: thrifted ☯ Leggings: Actual Pain ☯ Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell Stevies via Shoe Envi ☯ Beanie: DIY ☯ Poison Earrings: c/o Vanessa Mooney

Someone once told me how they hated the design of Jeffrey Campbell's platform heels such as the Lita/Stevie style because they looked like hooves. Well...I couldn't not with these leggings.

In fact, hoof-inspired heelless heels totally exist.

If these don't show up under my Christmas tree, I will be gravely disappointed.

I have felt surprisingly drawn to Baphomet lately? I wasn't sure why until I actually looked into its origin and symbolism. Its (The Sabbatic Goat) nature as a representation of the harmonious dichotomy in existence, and it's quite a beautiful symbol. Taken from Wikipedia:

"The goat on the frontispiece carries the sign of the pentagram on the forehead, with one point at the top, a symbol of light, his two hands forming the sign of occultism, the one pointing up to the white moon of Chesed, the other pointing down to the black one of Geburah. This sign expresses the perfect harmony of mercy with justice. His one arm is female, the other male like the ones of the androgyne of Khunrath, the attributes of which we had to unite with those of our goat because he is one and the same symbol. The flame of intelligence shining between his horns is the magic light of the universal balance, the image of the soul elevated above matter, as the flame, whilst being tied to matter, shines above it." (Eliphas Lévi)

This is the Baphomet that would be later tied into Satanism; kind of sad if only because that symbolism has been really lost in the mainstream understanding of the creature because of it.

Also, my beanie is pretty rad.

69; Leopard Top Giveaway! [GIVEAWAY CLOSED]

Top: Ali & Kris • Spike Halo Vest: DIYed Forever21 • Leggings: Nasty Gal • Heels: Jeffrey Campbell • Necklace: Forever21

Ew, indoor photos. Ew, ew, ew. I hate artificial lighting with the fire of a thousand suns. I'm actually considering buying some studio umbrella lights to fix this. And yeah, I know, I just wore these leggings recently. You have no idea how often I'm wearing them. I'm wearing them with clothes that don't even match 'em, becuase I don't want to take them off. I can't help it.

I DIYed this vest after seeing Iben (of Despite Colour)'s Statue of Liberty headband. I was all geared up to make it like, a few months ago, but I had misplaced the detachable hood and couldn't get started immediately. Then I discovered that Cannibalize (of ET IN ARCADIA EGO) beat me to it by at least a month and a half and had an infinately more badass outcome -- which is totally cool, because I secretly worship this woman. /bias

Also, I'm really dumb and didn't realise until after editing the prime shots in Photoshop that most of the poses that I picked out are the same. Oops. (Though I had tons more shots in different poses, but working with no remote and a tripod -- Kathryn was at work -- I managed to stand out of focus in the photos I left out, so it's more circumstantial than anything else.)

But no one here cares about that crap, when there's a giveaway going on, am I right?

(Update: when checking this blog post since first posting it, I saw that the Tweet
counter was at 10. I went to check the tweets, because I am an eagerly curious person,
and nothing came up. I checked the blog, and it set to 0. I'm not entirely sure why.
Thus, everyone up to this point (28 comments), I believe tweeted as an additional
entry. Maybe this thing will sort itself out. Leave it to technology to muck things up!)
