100; Misrepresented

Top: thrifted ☯ Leggings: Actual Pain ☯ Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell Stevies via Shoe Envi ☯ Beanie: DIY ☯ Poison Earrings: c/o Vanessa Mooney

Someone once told me how they hated the design of Jeffrey Campbell's platform heels such as the Lita/Stevie style because they looked like hooves. Well...I couldn't not with these leggings.

In fact, hoof-inspired heelless heels totally exist.

If these don't show up under my Christmas tree, I will be gravely disappointed.

I have felt surprisingly drawn to Baphomet lately? I wasn't sure why until I actually looked into its origin and symbolism. Its (The Sabbatic Goat) nature as a representation of the harmonious dichotomy in existence, and it's quite a beautiful symbol. Taken from Wikipedia:

"The goat on the frontispiece carries the sign of the pentagram on the forehead, with one point at the top, a symbol of light, his two hands forming the sign of occultism, the one pointing up to the white moon of Chesed, the other pointing down to the black one of Geburah. This sign expresses the perfect harmony of mercy with justice. His one arm is female, the other male like the ones of the androgyne of Khunrath, the attributes of which we had to unite with those of our goat because he is one and the same symbol. The flame of intelligence shining between his horns is the magic light of the universal balance, the image of the soul elevated above matter, as the flame, whilst being tied to matter, shines above it." (Eliphas Lévi)

This is the Baphomet that would be later tied into Satanism; kind of sad if only because that symbolism has been really lost in the mainstream understanding of the creature because of it.

Also, my beanie is pretty rad.

I think I seriously rock overgrown roots. My hair always looks the best when I've let my roots come in, and I mean like, two months of rootage here. Especially with this outfit, where I look like a sixteen year old girl trying so hard to be hardcore, but all she has is her ex-biker mom's older clothes and a slim-picking thrift store downtown. Is that...oddly specific? I love stories okay.

I can't even describe how old these photos are. I have one other outfit set taken back in late July for Naag Panchami on the backburner, as well. It's been a blur of work, exhaustion, and sleep. Wasted most of my summer on working and being pretty brain dead. A select few of you people might recall this Formspring video answer I made where I explain how Kathryn and I met through the geekiest of means, IE. a roleplay group online? Yeah I might've gotten back into that business, and that's taken up some free time as well. I think I've written novel-lengths of text in the past three months, holy crap. Old hobbies die hard, man.

So I ceased proper functioning and Kathryn got a breakthrough at her job ($$$ if you catch my drift), so I suddenly didn't have this pressure to make as much money as possible for our necessities, and we decided I'm gonna cut back on work a little and return back to my hobbies. BLOGGING INCLUDED. SPECIFICALLY BLOGGING. I'd like to say that in my time not blogging I've still been looking fab but not really, not at all. I haven't even had the energy to dress nicely just because. It's been depressing!

And I've been lost without my beautiful blogger babes to fawn over and chat with, I can't even describe. I need to like, trade cell phone numbers for texting times. I am like, miles left behind in the dust and I am floored that my blog reader count hasn't dropped. You people are fucking perfect beings, okay? I love all of ya. No, seriously.

I have some other outfit ideas lined up, some collaborations to show you, and before you know it, fall will be here and this will become The New England Winter Clothing Marathon until May 2013 AREN'T YOU STOKED. (Because I certainly am not.) And I hope to volunteer at Boston Fashion Week at the end of September, so...!

--WOW KATHRYN JUST REMINDED ME what the fuck ever happened to Soulmates?! I can not wait until I have more hours in a day to live, this is going to be mindblowing.

88; You'd Better Run

Sweater: Decree via JC Penny • Maxi dress worn as a duster: thrifted • Denim cutoffs: thrifted Abercrombie & Fitch (I know right?) • Boots: ALDO shoes • Harley-Davidson beanie: convenience store • Belt: gift from my girl Isabel Spectre! • Evil eye harness: eBay

Damn, this was the first day in a while where I happened to have a day off from work during nice weather. All of my days have been falling on cold, rainy weather, which is part of my lack of outfit posts. Not having a car means having to walk around to get places, and I refuse to get all gussied up if I'm just going to be bundled up in my weatherproof winter coat all day, possibly getting rained on. Screw that, I'll just wear jeans and some ugly sweaters in that case.

I regretted not having flowers in my bootlaces, something I adore seeing, so after these were taken, I promptly hit the local Jo-Ann's and bought a three dollar bundle of fakes. I really wish I'd been able to get them before taking these photos, but whatever. It's not as if I'll never take outfit photos again!

My favourite aspect of this outfit above all is the maxi skirt, used as a duster. The fabric is so damn light and flowy, that it flies up behind me while I walk, and it catches even the gentlest breeze. It looks freaking magical, especially with my hair colour. Aww yeah.

Hey hey, on another note, I'm up in another contest with PLNDR to assist-style for an upcoming photoshoot with them! Since, y'know, I'm a fashion blogger and all, I figure this is right up my alley, and since I'm a hop, skip, and a jump away from their headquarters, it's almost insultingly perfect for me!

Click here to vote (must like their Facebook page; sorry if it's a pain! I WILL RETURN THE FAVOUR?), you can vote once per day until the contest ends!

Off topic: anyone see the Avengers? OH MY GOD HAVEN'T BEEN SO EXCITED ABOUT A MOVIE SINCE...I CAN'T EVEN REMEMBER. I am very and wholeheartedly seriously considering making a Loki inspired outfit. I have horns that I bought at King Richard's Faire last fall. I...I think I need to make this happen. Will you guys judge me? Yeah, that's okay.

GREEN CABLE KNIT SWEATER: GET.

Song reference, kinda obsessed at the moment:

81; A Seance in the Dark

Top: JC Penny • Skirt: Pacsun • Creeps: eBay • Scarf: Fanneuil Hall, Boston • Necklace: birthday gift (try eBay) • Skull bracelet: Waloosi's, N. Leominster • Other bracelet: ShopWasteland.com • Belt: Delia's • Earrings: vintage

Firstly, thank you guys so much for your wonderful support for SOULMATES! As I type this, I've sold three pieces -- more than I had figured! I'm going to keep working on new pieces and designs, and perhaps even a discount code for you readers! I think I can afford that for you guys, especially if I keep selling stuff. You're more than welcome to help spread the word about the shop; here's a few ways:

My hair's almost not blue-green anymore! I've actually recently bleached it again, and it's sooo white now. It's actually kinda weird seeing it back to this colour after over a month. I'm thinking I'll keep it blonde until I have to do my roots, and then I'll Kool-Aid it again. I've bought packets of Orange and Strawberry, and Kathryn says she wants to see me with pink hair. Well, I've always wanted pink hair, so that's probably the colour you'll see me with next!

Also, you can totally see my mis-matched socks three photos up from here. Well, sometimes, a girl just can't find a matching black sock.

I keep getting fashion block, you guys. I've bought some stuff recently, and can't figure out how to wear any of 'em. Then I look at my existing pieces and go, "eugh," and struggle through finding a decent outfit. Perhaps it's partially due to the weather: it was really freaking warm, but it's getting back to chilly. Below fifty for the most of the next week? Are you kidding me, Massachusetts? You tease.

74; Birthday Suit

Top: thrifted • Pants: TUNNEL VISION • Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell Stevie • Belt: Etsy • Necklace: birthday gift from Kathryn • Earrings & shades: The Garage, Cambridge MA
Nail colour: China Glaze 'Japanese Koi'

It's Gypsy again! ♥ ISN'T SHE ADORABLE? Gah, this cat is so sweet. I love her lots. (Don't tell Jasmine; she'll KILL me.)

So I know I seriously JUST wore these jeans in a recent outfit (with a white top, pink bindi, and JCs...oops). I have another photo shoot done and had planned on posting that and then this one, as to avoid a sense of repeat. As it turns out, I have grown to really, really hate the outfit and the shoot all together, and I really don't want to post it. Sorry, guys.

But I feel this outfit is really different! Better, perhaps, than the last one including these jeans. This is what I wore on my 21st birthday (which was a little over a week ago now, huh?) out to Cambridge. Kathryn gave me this gorgeous necklace, vintage from Etsy, along with a gorgeous sake set from the local oriental grocery that I had been wanting for a while. (It has a pair of peacocks on each piece!) The necklace is showing Vishnu's feet, which is significant, in that it is said the river Ganga originates from his feet. She bought it for a whole other bunch of significant reasons for me but that's all sappy spiritual stuff you guys wouldn't be interested in. ♥

I picked up the earrings and sunglasses on my outing for my birthday, as well as an awesome backpack (that is sadly already falling apart, due to the fabric used to make it, so I'm not too upset; easy stuff to fix) and some awesome buys at Urban Outfitters. I plan to shoot one of the things I bought this Wednesday since the weather is supposed to be nice. (If you can call 54 degrees 'nice'.)

--Huh, what's that? My hair? OH, RIGHT. Yeah, it's blue, isn't it? Well, it's supposed to be purple, but I'm an idiot. I went to a grocery store looking for kool-aid to dye my hair with, and saw 'sugar free grape'. I derped and thought, 'that's without sugar, right?' Hah, wrong: aspartame! I was meant to buy unsweetened kool-aid. I didn't even notice until AFTER I had put it all in my hair the night before my birthday, which is why I think it came out the colour that it did. To be honest, I LOVE IT. It's still pretty blue a week later and I'm growing a liiitle bored of it, but it'll wash out.

But dudes, don't make my mistake, unless you live in the arctic tundra like me and don't have bees around for six months out of the year. My hair reeked like grape candy and was actually SWEET. Like, sugary tasting. For dayyys. Keep an eye out on Jean Greige's next kool-aid dye that I saw her mention on Twitter, if you wanna know how to get blue hair with this stuff. Last she mentioned, she's going blue as well!

Okay Imma shut up now, but before I go, I just wanted to share a few adorable photos of the wife-to-be:

...Weaing my jacket. She looks way better in it than I do. :(
