82; We Loved LSD, We Died Easily

Top: Doe (via Pacsun) • Shorts + shoes: eBay • Vest: DIY • Bracelet: vintage • ShopWasteland.com button

First off -- I apologise for the ugly mosquito bites on my legs. At least only one of them is really visible (see the final photo) and the other one is on the backside of my upper most thigh, so it was only caught in one photo. If you go to try to look for it, then you sir are one serious creeper.

Second -- I'm not blonde yet. I took these photos about a week and a half ago. I've been so freaking lazy and complacent about photographing outfits lately. It's been annoyingly cold again! I had four days off from work last week and just spent the time at home, watching Star Trek Deep Space Nine with my babe and making more SOULMATES stuff. Oh yeah, you read right. And I don't mean like, one little necklace or half an earring pair. I've begun two earring pairs and have finished three necklaces. I have been VERY productive compared to how I had been functioning before. I've also started planning on making some new jewelry pieces, to add to the earrings and necklaces. If you follow me on Twitter, you'll know what I'm talkin' about.

I can't even believe that I haven't worn these shorts yet -- and I don't just mean on the blog for you guys. I've had them since...last May? Thing is, I had NOOOTHING to wear with them. My wardrobe lacks many red/coral/pink colours, and even tops that seemed like they would vaguely match in colour were just completely wrong for the style of these shorts. They're the cutest and most comfortable high waisted shorty shorts that I own, I think. So you'd think I would have bought a different colour, but I didn't like the other variations. I'm a little stubborn, I guess?

By the way I WAS BORN TO LOVE THIS SHIRT. A...a tarot card shirt? For real? For $25? Whaaat? And I'll be honest with you, I've been pretty unimpressed with a lot of cutout-sleeved shirts I've been seeing lately (I feel like the cut in the sleeves for a lot of shirts I've seen are awkwardly round, in a way that looks silly to me. I can't explain it) but for some reason, I really do love the sleeve cuts on this one. The cuts are less round and more gradual, and I like it a LOT better. I told you that Pacsun can do no wrong, guys. (Or, well...I do mean Doe, who is responsible for this amazing shirt. But at least Pacsun knows to carry good looking stuff.)

I think I'm going to invest in some more bodycon dresses and skirts for this year. I see 'em paired with trashy tees and jackets, and it just sets my heart afire. Especially ones with crazy neon colours or patterns. Mm-hmm!

77; Dead End

Fringe sweater: c/o Sugarlips Apparel • Disco Pants: American Apparel • Tapestry Litas: Jeffrey Campbell (shopakira.com) • Necklace: SOULMATES (coming soon)

Another birthday purchase of mine: AA Disco Pants! Though they make me feel like a total fatty, because I have the legs of a XS, but the waist and butt of a S. I don't know, form-fitting pants are almost always baggy in the knees for me. Weird.

Okay so, Sugarlips Apparel was kind enough to send me this adorable sweater! It's ridiculously warm and soft, and I am just loving it to pieces. It's kind of perfect for chilly spring weather like the stuff we get up here in New England. Plus, dig the crazy fringe on these bell sleeves! I LOVE THE BELL SLEEVES.

Their stuff is wicked adorable, and some of it's pretty wallet friendly! Check out these picks -- they range from $79 down to $18, and some of their other pieces are even cheaper (including tie dye leggings!):

I serrriously love that first sweater up there...I might have to buy it.

76; Bad Karma

Okay...before I even get into the photos, I have to explain that they came out pretty shitty on this particular day. My camera's LCD decieved me and made me think the photos were brighter than they actually were, so when I transfered them onto my computer, I didn't expect them to be dark and grainy. (Then again...photos that look dark or vibrant on this desktop screen look drained and muted on Kathryn's laptop. I don't know which one is wrong.) Oh well! I did my best in editing the living hell out of them.

Also, in the beginning of the shoot, the sun was out. Then after a few shots, it hid away and completely changed the lighting of the photos...so I'll be posting those last, mainly so that it's less jarring to go from golden-sunny-bright photos to my pathetic attempt at making my dark-and-cloudy photos look passable.

Dress: Insight (via Urban Outfitters) • Vest: DIY • Tights: I have no idea • Creeps: eBay • Necklace: birthday gift

Bought this dress on my birthday. I had seen it on the UO website but for the longest time, it only had one review saying it was horrible. I happened to find it in the sale section in the UO in Cambridge's Harvard Square, and thought I'd try it on. It's AH-MAZING. I wore this outfit out when I went with Kathryn and some friends out shopping the week before last (the only difference is that I was wearing JC Stevies), and I ended up buying a black lace skirt at the mall that I threw on in the bathroom pretty immediately. I was stopped like, two or three times by random people to be gushed at and complimented. That...never happens. Ever. I kept feeling so uncomfortable and really embarrassed -- not in a bad way, exactly. I just can't comprehend people liking how I look so much. I kept wanting to stop them and say, "thanks and all, I really appreciate it, and Imma let you finish, but please don't waste your time on a dork like me. Go find someone who's ACTUALLY cool and tell them how amazing they are." Because I'm not cool. Not IRL. In person, I'm really loud, rambly, I laugh obnoxiously at everything, I'm immature like hell, awkward like woah... Oh man, I am really lame.

Like...I dunno. It's really hard to say, "I dress so eccentrically for me, not anyone else." Because not many people do that, do they? I have found that most girlies dress up to look appealing to others... But no, I just buy pieces that I think are really freaking awesome, and I wear them for my own enjoyment. So...getting compliments is always a shock. It's like, "you like my hair? Even though I look like I fell asleep underneath a lawn mower? You like what I'm wearing, even though I look like a really culturally confused hooker? Whaaa?"

I guess I have a weird double standard, because I'm totally okay with people online supporting my dress sense. I suppose it's because people who like say, grunge, actively look for grunge blog stylists online, and research and find people who dress as such. When you're dressed like the above and walk through a mall, it's like putting a wolf in a pen of sheep -- you sorta stand out, and no one's actively going through the crowd of people looking for people who dress like me to go, "oh my god, I love it!" In fact, your peers often give you a look like you have '666' written on your forehead in blood, or something. I get that a lot lately. (I think it's the hair.)

I know what you're thinking: "well, then, shut up, because people complimenting you in public is a good thing. GOD, KAT, APPRECIATE WHAT LITTLE YOU GET." Yeah, but, I GET STAGE FRIGHT OKAY. But I do appreciate the comments, after I calm down and the anxiety passes. Who doesn't love approval?

I told you I'm lame.

But aside from all of that, I reeeaaally love this outfit. Really. Really. Like...when it gets nice and warm in a few months (probably May...it starts getting nice in May) then I'll show ya guys what it looks like with the Stevies and lace skirt.

Ooohkay, I'm gonna shut up now. ♥

74; Birthday Suit

Top: thrifted • Pants: TUNNEL VISION • Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell Stevie • Belt: Etsy • Necklace: birthday gift from Kathryn • Earrings & shades: The Garage, Cambridge MA
Nail colour: China Glaze 'Japanese Koi'

It's Gypsy again! ♥ ISN'T SHE ADORABLE? Gah, this cat is so sweet. I love her lots. (Don't tell Jasmine; she'll KILL me.)

So I know I seriously JUST wore these jeans in a recent outfit (with a white top, pink bindi, and JCs...oops). I have another photo shoot done and had planned on posting that and then this one, as to avoid a sense of repeat. As it turns out, I have grown to really, really hate the outfit and the shoot all together, and I really don't want to post it. Sorry, guys.

But I feel this outfit is really different! Better, perhaps, than the last one including these jeans. This is what I wore on my 21st birthday (which was a little over a week ago now, huh?) out to Cambridge. Kathryn gave me this gorgeous necklace, vintage from Etsy, along with a gorgeous sake set from the local oriental grocery that I had been wanting for a while. (It has a pair of peacocks on each piece!) The necklace is showing Vishnu's feet, which is significant, in that it is said the river Ganga originates from his feet. She bought it for a whole other bunch of significant reasons for me but that's all sappy spiritual stuff you guys wouldn't be interested in. ♥

I picked up the earrings and sunglasses on my outing for my birthday, as well as an awesome backpack (that is sadly already falling apart, due to the fabric used to make it, so I'm not too upset; easy stuff to fix) and some awesome buys at Urban Outfitters. I plan to shoot one of the things I bought this Wednesday since the weather is supposed to be nice. (If you can call 54 degrees 'nice'.)

--Huh, what's that? My hair? OH, RIGHT. Yeah, it's blue, isn't it? Well, it's supposed to be purple, but I'm an idiot. I went to a grocery store looking for kool-aid to dye my hair with, and saw 'sugar free grape'. I derped and thought, 'that's without sugar, right?' Hah, wrong: aspartame! I was meant to buy unsweetened kool-aid. I didn't even notice until AFTER I had put it all in my hair the night before my birthday, which is why I think it came out the colour that it did. To be honest, I LOVE IT. It's still pretty blue a week later and I'm growing a liiitle bored of it, but it'll wash out.

But dudes, don't make my mistake, unless you live in the arctic tundra like me and don't have bees around for six months out of the year. My hair reeked like grape candy and was actually SWEET. Like, sugary tasting. For dayyys. Keep an eye out on Jean Greige's next kool-aid dye that I saw her mention on Twitter, if you wanna know how to get blue hair with this stuff. Last she mentioned, she's going blue as well!

Okay Imma shut up now, but before I go, I just wanted to share a few adorable photos of the wife-to-be:

...Weaing my jacket. She looks way better in it than I do. :(
